Week 1 Blog Assignment

Various instructional design blogs exist which can be helpful to anyone working in the field of instructional design. Three blogs relating to instructional design will be reviewed and the relevance of each to the field of instructional design will be mentioned. First, a change in a person’s attitude can have a great impact on how a person acts. When you thing about the learner in various environments overall, learners have different experiences and gain a variety of information at each step of the learning experience. Next, as technology continues to develop further and more programs are moving to an online format, it is not unusual to want to evaluate the effectiveness of online programs. Some people believe online programs have a lot of success while others believe the opposite. One’s belief can be based on research, personal experiences, and information obtained from others. Finally, the question of whether higher education is worth one’s investment is an interesting question to take into consideration. Higher education had changed and more changes are needed. More changes are needed to various areas of higher education as more and more employers are looking for competitive candidates holding a college degree.
The above information mentioned from three instructional design blogs can be very useful to my work as an instructional designer as one of the environments being considered for my future work in instructional design is higher education. Online learning is very relevant to higher education as well as methods of instruction to use in changing a learner’s behavior. Overall, the value of pursuing a degree in higher education has pros and cons especially when evaluating the economy today.
